Some would argue that the birth of indie rock started in Haledon New Jersey when in 1976, a band called the Outkids changed their line up and their name... to the Feelies. Before the release of their highly influential debut album Crazy Rhythms (1980), The village voice dubbed the unsigned band "The Best Underground Band in New York".

Sno Angel Winging It

When Howe Gelb was invited to play the Ottawa Blues Festival in 2006 he was a little confused since he doesn't make blues records. When he found out he was performing in a church, his set sandwiched between two gospel groups he took it as a sign.
